“What diet does Matt tell you to do?”
That was one of the ladies on our Fit For Life Body Transformation Programme was asked by a friend the other week.
Funny thing was that she answered with ‘It’s not really a diet”…
^^^ To surprise of her friend.
Because if you are expecting a secret from me about some magical food that is to blame for not losing weight?
You’ll be disappointed.
I really wish I could simplify to ONE thing…
But I’d be lying.
Because the best diet for you is literally the one you can do and SUSTAIN
You see, EVERY person that I work with has lost weight before with things like Slimming World, Weight Watchers, low carb etc.
The losing weight isn’t the issue.
Low carb, vegan, being flexible with carbs and fats or eating bacon for breakfast…they all work if you create a calorie deficit.
But one thing I want to say is that the WAY you choose to go should probably be the ONE that you feel you can sustain amongst birthdays, holidays, Christmas, busyness and LIFE…
And it’s why I don’t say you HAVE to eat a certain way.
Simply because you don’t have to
Unfortunately, whacky people out there so the ONLY way to do is by banning [insert trendy food to blame here] which means if YOU can’t do it?
You feel like a failure.
When the real key is to keep going when you would normally quit..
Remembering that you DON’T have to be perfect to progress.
Getting away from the ‘all or nothing’ mindset.
I know it’s not sexy…we all want results fast.
But if you can’t stick to it in 4 weeks, 3 months or a year?
Are you setting yourself up for failure?
Truth is, both me and you want to hear that it’s really easy.
But the sooner we understand that doing the simple, often mundane tasks, can get you fitter, back in your favourite clothes and helping reduce your chances of conditions like Type 2 diabetes…
