Fruci 1-0 Teacups

So this weekend, I took my 21-month old daughter for her first ride at the fun fair. 

You always picture them smiling, laughing, and having a blast.

The reality?

We get in the teacup. All smiling. But as soon as we get strapped in and I give the £5 fair to the lady? ​​

Tears begin streaming from my daughters eyes….

So I’m sat there. Smiling. Pretending everything is OK, hoping that the ride starts. and the tears got worse when she saw mummy…​​

But what was amazing was that as soon as the ride started?

she stopped crying.

In fact, she was even doing a few wiggles to the music.

Why am I telling you this?

​​​​​​​​​​​​Well, you might not know how nervous I used to be about speaking to people I didn’t know, let alone public speaking and doing videos. 

And something I learnt from this is that waiting for the perfect time to start start something, overthinking and paralysis by analysis​​…

Is not going to help you…

Although it seems logical to get more information.

This literally feeds your fear…

Fears about not having the willpower or self discipline because of failed attempts in the past?​​​​​​

Fears about how injuries and tiredness might not mean you get the results you want?

Fears about how not having much time will mean you can’t do the things you think you need to do to get the results you want?

​​​So, here’s the ONE question I want you to ask yourself today if you’re putting off doing something that you need to do:

“If not now, when?”

Then, I’d like you to put the thing in your diary so it becomes REAL. So you do the thing that you know you need to do to get the results you want. 

Here’s what one of the ladies on our Fit For Life Body Transformation Programme did the other day:

1) Put a date and time in the diary when she’d be using our nutrition app to plan her meals for 2 DAYS and get her shopping list automatically done for her

​​ (and it was NOT perfect. One of the meals was a curry night out and the next lunch time she was travelling so got a few things for on the go…but DONE is better than PERFECT…)

2) Did her shop

Yes, this took her  about an 5-10 mins to plan for the 2 days of meals to sort it out for a family of 4…but saved her hours of time (and money) nipping to the shops, buying stuff she didn’t need, worrying about what and when to eat, or stressing about whether it’s healthy enough for the family, having to cook separately …

After all, you make about 200 – 300  decisions about food every single day, which – on top of email, work, family life and domestic admin – is exhausting. 

And the less you have to rely on willpower?

The easier it is to take control of the mid afternoon pick me ups and late night binges…

Because there is NO secret. Apart from keeping it simple, Because the more simple you make it? The more likely you are to do it…

And the less likely you are to come up with reasons why you can’t do it.

Remember, doing beats anxiety 110% of the time 🙂
