So I got this message the other day:
“I know what to do but I can’t get started again. I don’t know where or what to start with”
You see, knowing what to do but not doing
Is as good as not knowing…
I’m just not sure if in this internet age
‘knowledge is power’…
In fact, I sometimes think it’s a good excuse to procrastinate and seek more information before taking action
That’s why I like to keep things very simple
And why I recommend that you start with the smallest, shortest step.
Because I honestly think that you can get great results by simple DOING what you know.
It’s like everyone knows they need to drink more water, eat more veggies, get some protein, and move a bit more…
But just like one of the ladies mentioned to me this week after we went through the planners that we use:
“something has altered this week and I’m sure it’s the planner as I need to be constantly reminded of what I am trying to achieve that day, and have everything in one place right in front of me, it seems to help me organise myself.”
It’s the DOING that is the secret..
I’m always amazed just how much a human being (including me) can change with some accountability, routine and a plan.
It’s why I actually work with 2 coaches myself.
Sure, I could do it myself,
But when I invest?
I do more. Simple.
And something I’ve learned with working with hundreds of ladies
Is how important it is to get you to ask for more…
Rather than give you too much to do…
You see, we love to make things more complicated than it needs to be.
The last thing I want to do is make this health and fitness stuff a chore for you..
It almost gives us a reason not to do it
Because the DOING is the hardest part.
And I get it.
It’s like with my struggle public speaking…
I’d even call in sick to avoid it and ace the coursework when I was at university I hated it that much..
I knew what to do but I couldn’t / would NOT do it..
But here’s the real secret:
ENJOY doing what they are good at.
You are generally good at things you do more.
And when your only experience of diets and exercise
are ‘bad’ foods, ‘good’ foods, yoyo dieting and long, boring workouts…
It’s no wonder you don’t want to do it…
The good news?
You don’t need to exercise for an hour
You don’t need to give up sugar
You don’t need to stop eating carbs after 6pm
I mean, they might work for you..
But what I am saying is that the only way to get better at something
Is to do it…
So start at the start.
Have a glass of water right NOW
Go for a walk TODAY at lunch time
Try this workout TODAY

Pack an apple in your car so you’re not ravenous when you come home from work and raid the cupboards.
and get attached to the fact that by doing these things…
You’ll find yourself closer (even if it’s just a little bit closer)
to making every day task, like climbing stairs, EASIER
getting fitter and stronger (which will help your bones and any achy joints)
Improving your health and reducing your risk of conditions like type 2 diabetes..
You can’t lose unless you give up
Which would probably mean you went too hard, too soon
and tried to do it all at once
