1 egg a day as bad as smoking 5 a day?

That’s according to Dr Netflix and their documentary: “What The Health”. Have you seen it?

And it annoys me so much. Because it’s misleading and stealing your good intentions of want to be healthier, developing a positive relationship with food and – well – just being the best version of you so you have more energy and feel – dare I say it – happy!

You see, this ‘scary’ headline is based on an “observational study”.

What does this mean?

Well, it means they watched people, asked them questions and then drew between the lines. AKA just took the parts they wanted to hear. And I don’t blame them. We’re all biased after all. It’s human nature to have beliefs and to protect them.

But here’s the thing: the people observed weren’t asked for any other lifestyle factors except for “how many egg yolks do you eat?” and “how many cigarette do you smile?” PLUS…all the people observed were patients at a vascular clinic.

So, here’s what you need to consider when you hear such crazy things:

Do you know if the people who ate the most amount of eggs just ate out at their local greasy fry up every morning? Did they eat out at fast food takeaways a lot and drink fizzy drinks? Did they exercise?

^^ they didn’t consider any of this

It’s a bit like me saying: there are more ice cream vans in the summer. People also get sunburnt more in the summer. Therefore, ice cream vans cause sun burn 😂

Anyway, I wrote about eggs and how many you ‘can’ eat per day here: https://frucifit.com/many-eggs-can-eat-per-day/ and thought you might like to read it before you go swapping your eggs for… 5 cigars!
