What else are you saying ‘NO’ to?

I’m not a judgemental person…But (this is where I judge you)…

I have to say, most of the ladies on our Fit For Life Body Transformation Programme are liars lol

Seriously.

They say things like

“I’m really unfit”

“I could never do a plank”

“I’ll never be able to do a push up”

“Wow…they make it look so easy. I wish I could do that”

But what I find really interesting is how when I slightly change the exercise and call it a different name?

They can do it…

Not to mention the FACT I see them in Waitrose carrying 8 bags of shopping haha

And what makes me really smile is when some of the ladies on our programme who’ve been on the programme a few months say to one of the newer ladies:

“don’t worry, I couldn’t do push ups when I first started”

And what I’m leading up to is this:

If you have had a bad experience or maybe have read something that negative about something. Let’s say it’s ‘exercise’, a ‘plank’ or ‘carbs’…

you may have developed a STONG aversion to this thing.

Which is so strong that it stops you from ever experiencing it.

Now this might not seem so bad…

But but not experiencing IT…what else are you saying NO to?

Feeling more confident?

Enjoying clothes shopping again and not worrying about what fits?

Enjoying a flexible way of eating that doesn’t demonise foods and make you anxious about eating out?

Having more energy so you can do more of the things you want to do?

Liking what you see in the mirror (which isn’t vain by the way)?

Improving your health so you be around for longer? Keep up with the kids?

And this is something I do to give myself a polite kick up the bum.

Because I’m only struggling for motivation when I’m not clear on what I want and WHY.

Because if you’re not clear on this? You’re just aimlessly going about things, comparing yourself to the IDEAL outcome…

Which will always be moving further away, by default.

Which makes it a recipe for disaster.

So, just ask yourself:

“By saying NO to [insert here], what else are you saying no to?”

It might just help you get clear on what you want to achieve, be it with your work, body, mind, health and / or relationships.

Matt
