It does worry me a bit…with having 3 kids.
The tech… AI… gadgets… gimmicks…
So I was pretty relieved to see them playing happily…
Ok a beach with a bucket and a spade.
It’s a good reminder (and relief if I’m honest)… the basics still work.
Same with health and fitness.
We overcomplicate it.
But really, most people will progress if they get these 3 things right:
– Calories (the beach)
– Protein (the spade)
– Movement — especially resistance training (as most people aren’t meeting the Government recommendations) and steps (the bucket)
Now here’s the key bit…
Whether you count calories or not… they still count.
Your total intake over the day, the week… that’s what’s going to determine whether you lose body fat, maintain or gain.
Protein?
That’s the one most people underdo.
It helps keep you fuller, more satisfied… makes everything else easier to stick to.
And then movement…
Not just “exercise”… but actually building strength, doing resistance work, moving your body regularly to help with bone density, muscle strength, tone and making everyday tasks easier.
Simple.
Not easy… but simple.
And here’s the thing… most people know this. But knowing ≠ doing.
So instead of overthinking it, here’s what to do next:
