This is where confidence actually comes from

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your motivation…

…is remind yourself of the wins.

Because confidence rarely comes first.

Confidence usually comes after the evidence.

After you’ve actually done the thing.

A few messages came through this week that summed this up perfectly.

One said:

“This has been a very tough week, but…

  1. I stuck to my exercise plan of one cardio and one strength session each day
  2. Got out in the garden and planted the first set of potatoes
  3. Made time for a haircut (sure you’ll appreciate that one Matt )”

If you’ve been following me this week you’ll know the story about my haircut

Another shared this:

“No bloating, less tired, and not out of breath after those stairs.”

And then the wins:

• Haven’t felt bloated for weeks

• Feeling less exhausted after a working day

• Walked the whole length of the very long uphill travelator at Bank station… and wasn’t out of breath

Now here’s the interesting thing.

None of these wins are dramatic “before and after” photos.

They’re not extreme transformations.

They’re real life improvements.

Feeling better in your body.

More energy.

Less discomfort.

Doing things that used to feel harder… more easily.

And that’s important.

Because when people start something new, they often wait to feel confident first.

But confidence doesn’t come from thinking about it.

It comes from doing things and seeing the evidence.

Turning up to a session.

Moving your body.

Building strength.

Making a better choice with food.

Then suddenly you notice something like:

“I’m not out of breath on those stairs anymore.”

That’s the evidence.

And that evidence builds the confidence to keep going.

That’s exactly what we try to create in the 28 Day Kickstart.

It becomes much easier to believe:
