She Gave Me ‘The Medicine’

"Stupid and dangerous"

^^^ She called me as I slowly, but surely, got out of a kayak soaking wet and shivering on a wintery, Icy Sunday...

If you didn't know, I'm currently trying to train to kayak from Devizes to Westminster in March for charity.

But this 'medicine' was exactly what I needed.

You see, when I'm in a room talking about diet, weight loss and exercise?

I'm the one people come to for answers. And it feels comfortable for me to give you an answer that's scientifically backed and fit for your lifestyle. It's what I'm trained in and very confident in helping you succeed in. 

But the problem?

This way of thinking can translate to other areas of my life...

You see, at the start of the race the other day, a lady looked at me like I was crazy when I told her we didn't have a support crew in this weather for the kayaking. 

Mine and my fellow paddlers response? 'we'll be fine'

And oh so fine...we were NOT!

As we fell in, leaving us soaking wet and cold for 3 hours out in the water. 

And I'll admit, I learnt the hard, slow and very cold way...

I should have just listened to what they said. They're the experts here NOT me. That's why I went there in the first place. For help!!

It would have been quicker, easier and a lot less cold....had I just had a support crew who simply had a change of clothes for me. 

Why am I sharing this with you?

Well, it's the same when trying to lose weight and slim down.
