New Year, New Me

Here we go again 

Back to work

Schools start again…

Throw away all of the bottles

Bin the chocolates

It’s all smoothies / veggies / vegan / alkaline water / the detox / gluten free and lots of healthy cooking from here on in – right?

Then there’s the exercise

Maybe start walking more

Bit of swimming?



We’ve all been there before, right?

That’s why it sounds so familiar.

But why doesn’t it last?

These good intentions?

These exciting new goals?

The picture that you visualise in your head – why doesn’t that come to fruition?

In my opinion [and I’ve been doing this for 10 years now], very rarely does it work when you go from one extreme to the other…

Unless you’ve perhaps got a specific health condition or a very specific  / special event such as a holiday or a wedding etc.

I would like to share something that myself and the ladies on our Fit For Life programme have shown to work

Something that sounds so simple, it’s easy to ignore because it is SO CLICHE…

Just focus

On creating some  healthy habits​​​​​​​​

That you can imagine STILL doing in not just 2 weeks time, but 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and 3 years time…

So rather than a Dry January – just stop drinking during the week and then have a couple at the weekend

Rather than eating just salad all week – focus on just a couple of hundred calories LESS than you need…

Rather than exercising 3 times a week having done nothing in December – have a go at ​​ONE…

Rather than 3 litres of water – just drink a glass of water when you wake up whilst the kettle boils

These habits aren’t sexy

But if you do them…consistently…

The results will speak for themselves (and actually be very sexy)

You can STILL drop a dress size ​​​​​​​​​​in 4 weeks

You can STILL have more energy to do the things you want to do

You can STILL feel fitter and stronger so you’re less out of breath climbing stairs doing everyday activities

You can STILL start sleeping better

WITHOUT going from one extreme to the other and needing special supplements or detoxes…

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​And it will actually be quite enjoyable and sustainable

NOT​​​​ a diet…

There is no end date that way

As it becomes a lifestyle
