I confess…
I went into PANIC mode the other day. You see, I was asked if I wanted to do the Devizes to Westminster canoe race in April
^^^ Just 125 miles long with the small problem of having to get in and out of the water 77 times 🙂
I – ‘stupidly’ – said yes…well, ‘stupidly’ according to others that I’ve told…
“I wouldn’t do that”, “You’ll get sick”, “Others have gone blind”
My response?
“$#*!…what have I signed up for…”
I looked into it further and – wow – I felt well and truly out of my comfort zone. Here’s a snippet from the website:
“an extremely testing event which often takes place in cold and inclement weather. Because of the distance and effort required, paddlers inevitably become deeply fatigued.
I felt fear instantly set it! I was scared!
But here’s the thing:
I can let this ‘fear’ of failure allow me to procrastinate and put it off / ignore the work I need to do OR use it to motivate me to do something about it so I don’t fail…
^^^ And it’s all for a great cause, too (2 charities, one of which is all about helping those with eating disorders)
So, what’s happened since?
I’ve asked for HELP.
You see, one of the scariest things to do is to ask for help. Because this – in itself- makes you feel like a failure. But if I don’t reach out, I literally have no clue what I’m doing.
I might be a Registered Nutritionist, but I’m no specialist in canoe racing, that’s for sure!
And it’s pretty much the same when it comes to toning up and ditching the fad diets for good so you enjoy your food again rather than thinking that you’ve failed for eating a ‘bad’ food…just as one member on my body transformation programme put it last week:
You have taught me how it’s ok to fall off the waggon every now and again and just because I have I don’t need to beat myself up and give up anymore. I just get back on again.
That’s what happens when you have support and accountability
Which is exactly what you get in my Fat Loss Mastery Body Transformation Programme
And it’s opening up again for new members in August, learn more here: https://frucifit.com/augustchallenge/
