To talk about why I wasn’t selected for England’s World Cup squad.
^^ ok, just joking.
We were actually talking about what stops people in their 50s and beyond from exercising again.
Injuries.
Niggles.
Arthritis.
Changing hormones.
Not exercising for years.
And that thought:
“I won’t be able to do what I used to do.”
Which is a big one.
Because sometimes we think exercise only counts if we can do what we did 10 or 20 years ago.
Same speed.
Same weights.
Same amount.
“It has to be an hour.”
^^ it really doesn’t
You don’t need to go back to where you were.
You start where you are now.
4 minutes.
5 minutes.
10 minutes.
A walk.
A few squats to a chair.
A wall sit.
Some resistance exercise adapted for you.
Because your pace is the right pace.
And this is what fitness is really for.
Putting your socks on more easily.
Getting up from the floor.
Mowing the lawn.
Walking uphill without pretending to admire the view while secretly getting your breath back.
Saying yes to more walks.
More holidays.
More gardening.
More time with children or grandchildren.
Not just trying to be as slim as you were 20 years ago.
But helping the person you are now feel stronger, fitter and more confident.
We’ll soon be opening our next Fruci Fit 7 Day Trial in Chippenham, Marlborough and Devizes.
£10 for the week.
Try up to 3 sessions.
Everything can be adapted to your level.
You don’t need to arrive fit.
^^ that’s kind of the point
We also have our new 6 week Pilates course starting Monday 22nd June in Lockeridge, Marlborough.
Message me “TRIAL” or “PILATES” and I’ll send you the details.
