Fonzie, sleepover nights and weight loss…


^^^ that was warning number 1

I’d look at my friends in shock

Noticing that all of us were biting our tongues 

Anticipating the full blown laughter and rebellious giggling to come

And then it happened.

One of us cracks

And all of us burst out laughing.

You might know what I’m talking about…

‘SLEEPOVER night!’

Dens made out of thousands of pillows and duvets

The ‘who can stay up the longest’ competition

The ‘how many skittles can you put in your mouth’ contest…

^^^ Ever tried that one?

And not to mention the TV marathon…

From testosterone filled wrestling to the lovable Fonzie…

And it’s easy to see how you might go into survival mode when it’s the kids sleepover nights

Maybe you should get T shirts made saying ‘I survived sleepover night’?

It always seemed to be the dad’s job to warn you that you were too loud…

After the first warning and rebellious giggling…

we’d​​​ hear dad’s footsteps. 

They get closer


Dad opens the door. 

“Can you turn the TV down. It’s getting late and you need to get some sleep”

And with a mouth full of skittles

I turn the TV right down from 24 to 18

“Now we can’t hear it…” we all cry

And this is where ‘the gradual’ tactic was invented

We agreed to slowly turn the TV down

First from 24 to 22 for 5 mins…then 22 to 20 for 5 mins…and then 20 to 18…

And you then adjust to this new level of volume and CAN hear it

Which is exactly the same when it comes to your fat loss

^^^ See, I don’t JUST ramble on. I do have scientific points as well

You see, when you put on fat and maintain this new level of weight or fat 

Your body adjusts and now PROTECTS this new level fat on your hips (I know, bad news…)

Your ‘thermostat’​​​​​​​ in your body adjusts

So whenever you try to ditch these love handles with the latest detox craze

Make you feel hungry
