“I’ll have a Big Mac, fries and an iPad please”

So I’m driving on the motorway the other day and needed to stop off for a quick break. The services only had a McDonalds and to get to the toilet, I had to walk past the queue and the hunger brewing greasy – albeit- delightful smell of the burgers and fries…

BUT… one thing I noticed was that all of the tables now had iPads for the kids to play with…whilst they eat…

Now, I’m not saying this is wrong. But, we know that when distracted you:

1* eat more

2* have little recall of how much or what you ate…

^^^ Which will probably make you unconsciously eat more…

And a recent study found that almost nine out of 10 children aged six to 10 (87.5 per cent) use TV, iPads, mobile phones, computers, video games and radios while having dinner..

The survey of 1,000 children also found that more than one in 10 children (12 per cent) do not eat dinner with their parents – despite half admitting they would like to spend more time with them.

The research suggested both me and you are more distracted than ever (which we know could lead you to eat more and gain weight) and are not allowing enough time at meals to socialise and interact with loved ones…

And this leads me to this:

Rather than hopping on yet another diet, could you lose more weight just by applying the following rules:

1* Only eat whilst you are sat down (to stop you gauging and grabbing anything on the go)

2* Only eat out of crockery at the dinner table with your family with the tv off

3* Wait at least 20 minutes before deciding if you “need” more

You see, I believe in focussing on the small, simple wins FIRST.

Why?

So you can stick to it, gain confidence and keep the weight off once and for all!

And it’s why I get you thinking differently about your diet in my new book and Fat Loss Mastery Body Transformation Programme
