This health and fitness industry really annoys me with its ‘hype’ sometimes. Well, not sometimes. All of the time, actually. It’s probably the most untruthful industry EVER.
Seriously, if some of the things happened in your industry / in your work? legal action would be taken…
So – today – I’m going to be completely honest with you.
You have some people claiming to offer ‘results’ but can’t demonstrate or show any results…
^^^ Which is about as legit as me saying I can put up an Ikea flat pack chest of drawers (I’ll admit, Mrs Fruci had to do the whole thing. I did cook dinner though)
Then you have others who get results and show you before and after pictures of people who have lost weight using their ‘fitness and diet’ principles^^^ Just like I’m doing here by showing you Fit For Life Body Transformation member, Annette, and her awesome progress and results lol
Such before and after pictures are used to help inspire you.
As you imagine yourself achieving the same transformation…(quicker than you can pour a glass of prosecco)
Which MAY create unrealistic expectations and is why MOST people fail to keep the weight off that they lose
You see, when you look at programmes like ‘The Biggest Loser’ and you see them losing 30lbs in a few weeks?
Losing 3lbs or a few inches from your waist looks like you fail…
Only the reality is that 3 weeks of filming is shown as one week, the contestants exercise 8 hours a day, live off an apple a day and regain most of the weight…
And that’s why a HUGE part of what we do in our Fit For Life Body Transformation Programmes align your expectations with your reality.
AKA
What can you achieve whilst still keeping on top of your work / home life and having a life?
Because in this industry of ‘hyped’ up foods, scare tactic and lies…
it really come back down to just being better than you were yesterday.
Do this consistently over time?
And you’ll be surprised at just how quickly you’ll be fitting back into your favourite clothes
^^ just like Annette has acheived
Anyway, in this untruthful health and fitness industry, they then ask you if you want a free day pass or something like that so they can try to get you signed up.
Which – in all honesty – is probably in your best interests IF it means you exercise more and eat better (as this will improve you health, reduce your risk of diseases, and make you feel better about yourself)
But why is it that we have more gyms than ever yet obesity rates are rising?
Well, 3 reasons in my opinion:
1) Intimidating environments (which means you never actually go and do nothing)
2) A lack of support (there’s no one to reach out to, be it like-minded people, or someone on the other end of a call to help you rationalise things and prevent the ‘F it” mindset where you just start again on Monday)
3) A lack of accountability – these gyms might give you a fitness programme…and they might offer you ‘some’ accountability by changing your programme every now and then..
but unless they actually understand what you value in life, your personal challenges and give you the support system to help you become accountable to what you really want to achieve?
It can end up with the same old story of ‘I lack willpower’ again and again.
When in fact?
It might just be a lack of understanding of WHY you’re doing what you’re doing.
I’m just going to be honest with you here, I’m not going to patronise you and tell you to ‘eat more fruit and veggies’ as you know that already. You’re smart.
I’d rather just give you a personalised plan, accountability and a support system that means you spend less time worrying about what and when to eat so you actually DO the things you know you need to do to get the results you want.
Just like Annette has done
