It was great to welcome the women from My Happy Pace run club to Fruci Fit in Marlborough last week.

They started with a gentle run around the lovely fields and trails in Lockeridge.
Then headed into the studio for a bit of strength work. .

We kept it simple.
^^ hopefully
Single-leg work.
Hamstrings.
Calves.
Glutes.
And quads.
All areas that can help build stronger, more resilient legs for running…and everyday life.
But the exercises were not complicated for the sake of being complicated.
Most could be done at home or with minimal equipment.
Because a strength and conditioning session does not need to include loads of kit or leave you unable to walk downstairs for three days to be useful.
^^^ there’s a time and a place for that
It is about doing the basics well.
Knowing what you are trying to work.
Using good technique.
And gradually progressing as you get stronger and more confident.

The best bit?
They had fun, learnt plenty and, in their words, discovered a few muscles they did not know they had.

That is what a supportive group and a coach-led session can do.
You do not need to know every exercise before you start.
You just need somewhere you feel comfortable enough to give it a go.
If you would like to experience that for yourself, our next 7 Day Trial starts on Monday 7th September.
It’s £10 for the week and you can try up to three coach-led sessions in Marlborough, Chippenham, Devizes or from home.
You do not need to be a runner.
And you definitely do not need to be “fit enough” before you start.
We’ll meet you where you are, adapt things where needed and help you build confidence from there.
If at the end of the week it is not for you, that is absolutely fine.
If you want to continue, great.
Message or comment “TRIAL” and I’ll send you the details.
Matt
