So I got this message from Saniya last week (as she said, overdue and prompted by the fact I got to meet Arystan as we saw each other on Marlborough High Street at the weekend)

Congratulations 🙂
Now, PCOS comes up a lot. Whether that is because some of the ladies have it
Or they know someone who has it
And it is interesting that no one really talks about it..
Or at least as much as we should…
And I won’t go into the specifics here…
But when it comes to PCOS, I would recommend looking into a supplement called inositol
to go alongside lifestyle changes and anything else advised by your consultant …
But something that is talked about a lot
Is menopausal weight gain…
And I was doing a live video the other day
And I was asked about something they saw on Breakfast TV
About whether you should just resign to menopausal weight gain.
Really interesting question.
As of course,
Hormonal changes
Signalling changes
Fat storage more like a man (around the stomach) which can make you feel rubbish
Which impacts what you do…
Then throw in poor sleep due to hot flushes
Then throw in tiredness because of poor sleep
And you are hungrier than ever..
And yes..
It will be harder.
And as a man..
I am grateful I will never have to go through this.
I have even learnt not to say ‘is it me or is it hot in here?’ during a workout with the ladies haha
But the good news here?
The principles remain the same…
Protein intake and hydration
Fibre intake and gut health could help with how full up you feel
Total food intake..
These all still matter
To improve your signalling
But you may just need to be a bit more consistent than you were 20 years ago..
And it is bit like what has happened in the Type 2 diabetes area.
Having worked in the NHS delivering Type 2 Diabetes education to those diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes..
We’ve seen a move from ‘it will get worse it is a progressive disease’
^^ which literally drained the persons energy..almost like ‘what is the point then?’
Compared to
“Well, it is a progressive disease but research show you may be able to put it in remission”
Can you see the difference?
The latter is exciting..
There is hope.
There are things you can do..
It will just be harder..
But consider..
Harder compared to what?
To staying the same where you are now?
Truth is,
You may need to be more consistent than you were to get there..
Which is exactly what we help you do..
Essentially
Doing the things you know you need to do…consistently.
