“I’ll go to McDonald’s and have a burger on the way home, when Roy will have made us a nice lamb stir fry with oodles of vegetables.
He moans about it.
He says: “But you’ll spoil your appetite”. I say: “When have you ever known me not finish what is on my plate?” I just love food.’”
That’s a quote from a channel 4 documentary that’s on tonight at 830pm
Looking at how some people can seemingly eat
Loads of crap
And stay skinny 🤔
But on further inspection
What did they find?
The AMOUNT of food they eat
Wasn’t actually as much as they thought
It was actually an “average” intake
Sure, sometimes they’d put away a chocolate bar and 5 sausages for breakfast
But they didn’t pick between meals
They sometimes even left food on their plate
Which just shows the difference between
Eating “healthily”
and
Eating for “weight loss”
Now, for me
They should be used in combination
It’s generally easier to stick to that way
And you’ll feel better. Immune system, energy, migraines, sleep, split nails
Essentially, small changes to your eating habits, building a positive relationship with food, moderately less calories, preferably whole, nutritious foods
not beating yourself up for eating some cake
Because you know there’s no bad or good foods
The only ways it’s really bad
Is if you think you might as well F it
And Start again next week
Just remember:
Fat loss= calorie deficit
Health = mainly whole, nutritious foods and giving yourself permission to eat the foods you like, knowing that it’s your choice
After all, one professor ate nothing but cakes and junk food (every 3 hours) for 10 weeks
But made sure he didn’t overeat his calories
(A bit like the Greggs sausage roll diet)
And be lost 27lbs
Improved his cholesterol
Reduced blood pressure
He even admitted that he “wished” the results were different
But it just shows there are no secrets
Sure, some people have more favourable genetics
Better gut health
But either way
The principles are the same when it comes to fat loss
And getting fitter
In fact, I can guarantee you already know what to do
And if you did want you already know?
You’d get great results.
So my advice?
Instead of waiting for the next “magic” answer
That cure-all “Natural” herb
Detox tea
Or Whatever else they bring out
My advice for you is to just get started with what you already know
Like. Literally just drink a glass of water every 2 hours today
Start there
Matt
