Why I felt old this week (3 times)

I’ve got to admit… I felt old this week

Three things happened:

First one — I said to my 8-year-old, “Fancy a run?”

She says, “Yeah!”

I go, “Great — make sure you wear something good for running.”

She looks at me confused and goes,

“Daddy… what are these?”

I said, “Trousers.”

She goes, “They’re joggers, Daddy… joggers!”

ahhh. Outsmarted by an 8-year-old.

Then — on the school run — she goes, “There’s a spider behind your seat!”

I look behind… big spider under the headrest.

Heart racing.

…Plastic spider.

Done again.

And finally — playing football Monday — got nutmegged, nearly fell over my own feet…

^^ reminded me why I stopped playing football years ago…

In that moment I thought — I could come off, or…

I could get back in the game.
