If you saw my knee right now…
You’d probably think I just fell over in the playground.
^^ as my kids point out. Didn’t even offer the magic sponge or Calpol. Despite doing my ACL, lateral and medial meniscus back in November
There’s barely a scar.
It’s been 5 weeks of slow, boring rehab.
The kind where you finish and think…
“Has that even done anything?”
No big sweat.
No big transformation.
No dramatic before and after.
Just small movements.
Every day.
Some days I can’t be bothered.
It feels pointless.
Because afterwards?
You barely notice a difference.
But then I have to ask myself the question…
What are the benefits of doing it?
What are the benefits of not doing it?
If I don’t do it…
Strength drops
Muscle loss
Confidence drops
Recovery slows
If I do it…
I give myself the best possible chance.
Even if I can’t see it massively yet.
Sure, I’ve seen improvement.
But I’m human. I’d like to have seen more improvement (like we all do).
But one question I ask:
What would happen if I stopped doing the rehab?
And it’s the same when speaking to thousands of people over the years at Fruci Fit working on their health and fitness.
It’s the small things.
It’s the decision to stop at 2 biscuits instead of 3.
To get up and move for 10 minutes instead of nothing.
To show up when you don’t feel like it.
You won’t see the result that day.
But those small choices?
They add up.
Same thing I tell my kids with their reading and homework.
A little bit, often…
suddenly they’re we’ve read a book.
It’s not one big moment.
It’s the quiet accumulation.
And most people quit because they don’t see change immediately.
They think…
“What’s the point?”
But the point isn’t today.
The point is who you are becoming over time.
Stronger.
More resilient.
More consistent.
Not to mention the health benefits like bone density, energy, mental health, toning up, during clothes better..:
I find most don’t need a massive overhaul.
But just need to keep going.
If you’re struggling with that bit — the consistency when motivation dips…
