Last Sunday at the Longevity Games was one of those days that sticks with you.
Massive well done to everyone who took part and organised the event.
It was really inspiring to see people pushing their comfort zones.
Some felt ready.
Some definitely didn’t.
But they showed up anyway.
And that’s the bit that matters.
Because before you do something like that, all the little reasons not to do it start creeping in.
“I’m not ready.”
“What if I can’t do it?”
“What if everyone else is fitter than me?”
“Maybe I’ll leave it this time.”
You know the voice. They call them ‘phantom reasons’
But when you do it anyway, something happens.
You build evidence.
Evidence that says:
“I can show up.”
“I can do more than I thought.”
“I’m not as far off as I feared.”
And that evidence builds confidence.
That confidence then helps you keep going.
And the funny thing is, it doesn’t just help you.
It inspires other people too.
It inspired me.
I got back last Sunday and still needed to get a bit more done with my rehab.
I’d had the kids at athletics, then at Longevity Games cheering the 20 Fruci Fitters plus everyone else, then a roast dinner…
And to be fair, a roast dinner normally has me ready to be horizontal for the rest of the day.
But after seeing everyone at Longevity Games, I thought:
“Nope. Get it done.”
So I did my rehab and workout..
Not because I felt motivated before.
But because I’d been reminded what showing up does.
And this is such a good reminder if you’ve been thinking about getting back into fitness.
You don’t need to feel ready.
You don’t need to be where you used to be.
You just need to take that first step and build some evidence again.
That’s exactly why we’re running our 7 Day Trial starting Monday 18th May.
£10 for the week.
Up to 3 sessions.
At your pace.
A chance to come in, get moving again, meet the coaches and see how it feels.
No pressure to be perfect.
No need to “get fit first”.
Just focus on what you can do today.
If you’ve been thinking “I just need to get back into it”…
This is your chance.

PS. You don’t need a Longevity Games-sized goal to start. Sometimes the first win is just booking in and turning up. That counts.
PPS. Or even better, doing the workout when you would normally have said ‘I can’t”…Like I did after my Roast Dinner. Details for the trail here. https://frucifit.com
