I was struggling for motivation… until this

It was in the back of my mind for a while…

Motivation was a bit off.

Training? Doing the bare minimum.

Nutrition? More about convenience than intention.

And it is easy to forget about it and put it off. Throw myself into my work, which I obviously love.

Focus on the kids and family, which I love…

But then the next day comes and it’s a reminder of not quite having that goal and push …

I realised I didn’t really have anything in the diary.

And if I’m honest — when I don’t have a challenge or event to aim for, I can drift.

Moreso now, probably since having kids for some reason..

I’ll still do bits, sure… but there’s no umpth…no spark or get up and go.

Then last week, I signed up for the last ever Rat Race Man Vs Coast — a 25-mile run along the coast with some parts in the sea, coasteering, and bodyboarding with some runs along the beach too..

(Definitely one of those “what have I done?” moments.)

I’ve also got the Longevity Games coming up.

And now Hyrox in December…

Now suddenly I’m:

  • Getting up for early runs (baby dependent, if not I get a home workout done as he quite enjoys watching  me suffer…)
  • Actually fuelling my training properly again
  • Feeling excited to move — even in the rain

I’m not saying everyone needs to sign up to something massive…

But having something in the diary — a walk, a local event, a goal — it changes things.

It gives you a reason to show up.

It gives your routine a purpose.

And sometimes, it’s the little nudge that gets you out of a rut.

That’s actually why we run events here at Fruci Fit — and build them into our programmes, all included in our 28 Day Kickstart (Message me with ‘Kickstart’ for more info).

Be it our bi-yearly FruciRox event or our Fun Fruci Fit Shenai Event (more on that soon)

Because when motivation feels like it’s on a Summer holiday, a bit of accountability and fun can make all the difference.

More on our next event soon.

But for now, if you’ve been struggling with that “meh” feeling…

Find something small to aim for.

Even if it’s just turning up today.
