It’s easy to forget this part when trying to improve your health and fitness.
It’s the boring part. The recovery / focus part. It’s odd. We forget about it. Think it’s not important. But forget that it’s actually a prerequisite for the things we call important – the diet and exercise.
So here are 4 things that help recovery (and support your fitness & food goals):
1) Protein at every meal
Helps muscle repair, strength, and appetite control. When recovery improves, food choices usually get easier too.
2) Baths/ shower: hot or cold (with intention)
• Cold → if you’re training a lot and want to reduce soreness ready for another session
• Hot → if you’re tight, stressed, or need to relax
Both can be part of your FOCUS habit we talk about at Fruci Fit— doing something that helps you feel better.
3) Sleep (boring but effective)
Recovery, motivation, consistency, hunger hormones — all improve when sleep improves.
4) Gentle movement
Walking, mobility, stretching. Keeps you moving well and feeling capable rather than broken. That’s why we also have yoga and stretch sessions too at Fruci Fit.
We often forget the “Focus” element when setting goals around our health and fitness.
The thing you do for you that makes you feel good — physically and mentally.
Recovery isn’t lazy. It’s part of the plan. And allows you to then push further.
My focus habit is always bed by 930pm and sometimes the kids help me out with their spa evening
