Christmas leftovers?

There’s nothing better than leftovers the next day.

No cooking.

Tasty food already waiting.

Cheese… more cheese… and a bit more cheese for good measure

And here’s the thing most people don’t realise…

Christmas can actually make some healthy habits easier — not harder.

So today, I wanted to share 3 simple habits that work surprisingly well this time of year.

Healthy habit #1: Walk more

With a little more time and fewer routines, it’s easier to get out for a walk. Unless you’re on crutches like me

Not just for the steps — but for how you feel afterwards.

If you’re anything like me, you come back from a winter walk feeling:

• Happier

• More energised

• Slightly smug

And bonus… the house always feels warmer when you get back in.

So even me now. I’ll get out a for some movement and fresh air. Good workout for my arms with the crutches too.

Healthy habit #2: A glass of water before each meal

With more alcohol and nibbles around, water is often the first thing to go.

Yet it’s one of the simplest habits you can do that helps with:

• Digestion

• Feeling fuller

• Energy

• Concentration

• Skin

Simple. Boring. Very effective.

Healthy habit #3: Eat more protein

Protein helps you:

  • Feel fuller for longer (less random snacking)
  • Support skin, hair and nails
  • Maintain muscle and strength as we age

And at Christmas?

Protein is everywhere.

Turkey.

Pigs in blankets (albeit smothered with fat too)

Even nut roast (yes, carbs and fats too — but still counts).

So here’s my little Boxing Day challenge for you:

Don’t focus on what you can’t control this week.

Focus on what you can.

A walk.

A glass of water.

A protein-first meal.

And speaking of focusing on what you can control…

If January is the month you want to feel stronger, fitter, more confident and back in routine — our January 28 Day Kickstart is now open..

No extremes.

No pressure.

Just simple habits, accountability, and support

Specifically for women 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+ and beyond who pretty much know what to do but need the plan and accountability to do it.

Enjoy the leftovers (especially the cheese).

After all, you’ll be sick of those leftovers soon.

Maybe you’ll be like me, craving a tin of mackerel. Ok, maybe not. That’s just me.

Matt
