“I haven’t exercised in 9 months…”
That’s what someone said to me on the phone this week when they were thinking about joining Fruci Fit.
The reason?
They’d had a bad ankle.
And look—I get it. Injuries, aches, pains, life—it all gets in the way sometimes.
But I asked them, “Mind if I share this story?”
Because it’s such a powerful reminder:
There’s always something you can do.
Bad ankle? Focus on upper body.
Bad shoulder? Let’s train your legs.
Can’t kneel? We’ll stay on your feet with our No Floor Workouts and use the wall and a chair instead.
Can’t squat? Let’s strengthen your arms and back, as well as the glutes (I love our “lazy bum” workout for this. You can do it laying down)
In fact, I remember someone once told me they couldn’t do any leg work because of a dodgy knee.
So we focused on the back of the arms—the ol’ “bingo wings” as she called them.
She always said she wanted to tone them up. Well… there was our opportunity!
This is the beauty of resistance exercise.
It’s adaptable. We can tailor it to what you can do.
Even when life throws you a curveball (or a creaky hip), there’s always a way forward (as long as you focus on what you can do).
And when you’re surrounded by a group of like-minded women, all figuring it out together—with hips, knees, joints, shoulders in all states—you realise…
You’re not alone.
You can do more than you think.
And there’s always another option.
