So I was speaking at an education day the other week for those recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes by their GP..
People start off by sharing their own journey.
One woman mentioned that she knows WHY she has it. She put it down to lifestyle (although it is not ALWAYS this simple)
But even though they knew it could happen, they never thought that it actually WOULD…
And they were still in shock. ‘Why me”…’other people are worse than me and don’t have it”
Likely, she was approaching 50 and with advances in medicine and what we know about lifestyle changes, we’re living in a time where it has NEVER been better to be a human being..
(This is a FACT…not an opinion)
Chances are, she could actually live another 50 years…That’s basically another life.
Why am I saying this?
Well, whether it is your career, fitness, work, relationships, health…
It is never too late.
I agree that ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure’…
But look around right now and you will see just how amazing the opportunities are in this world we live in.
There has never been a better time to be a human being: food availability, clean water, education, jobs, conflict in the world (despite what media say)…
Truth is, I’m here stressed that the barista put whole milk in my coffee instead of skimmed milk…
And it only takes a moment to think about Remembrance Day etc. to wake up and know how much CHOICE we really have in today’s world.
So, what are you doing today to win? In your relationships, body, health, fitness, mindset?
