I went to Alton Towers with the family over bank holiday weekend.
Sun shining.
Me pretending I wasn’t slightly nervous dor some of the rides.
I hadn’t been for years.
I remember going as a kid with friends, queuing up for the big rides, loving it!
And it was no different this time.
This time, my plan was to do a few of the big rides on my own and then some with the kids.
And don’t get me wrong…
Going on the big rides on my own was still fun.
But it’s so much fun with others, right?
Luckily, my kids are nearly tall enough for the bigger rollercoasters but it was great going on the ones we did together.
Although the spinball rollercoaster i went o neither the kids did hurt my neck a bit and another one had my knee impressively bend
^^ how old did I sound then
But so much more fun together.
The fun in the queue (although the sun seemed to put some people off. Never seen a 5 minute queue for Nemeis)
Someone is nervous.
Someone says “never again” and then 10 minutes later wants to queue up for the next one.
It’s just better when you share it.
And I think fitness is a bit like that too.
You can do it on your own.
You can go to a gym on your own.
You can follow a workout on YouTube on your own.
And for some people, that works.
But for a lot of women we speak to, one of the biggest things missing isn’t information.
It’s people.
Support.
Encouragement.
A friendly face when you walk in.
Someone saying “I found that hard too.”
Someone else cheering when you do something you didn’t think you could.
That’s why the Fruci Fit community is super powerful.
It even surprises me.
And with more and more women saying to me that one of their motivations – along with their health, fitness, mood, energy, longevity – is to make new friends.
It’s not just sessions.
It’s women working together.
Laughing together.
Getting fitter together.
Building confidence together.
And actually enjoying it enough to come back.
^^ well, maybe not enjoying all of it
I keep hearing it more and more now when women join:
“I want to meet new people.”
“I want to be around like-minded women.”
“I want to feel part of something.”
“I want to make friends.”
I don’t think people said that as much in 2008 when I first started personal training.
But now, community is a huge part of it.

PS. I also spent about 10 minutes confidently telling my 2-year-old “look, there’s Oopsy Daisy”… only to realise it’s Upsy Daisy. I’m sure it’s not first or last embarrassing dad moment
