Do you skip this boring part?

Took my two-year-old to watch Swindon Town.

I’m not sure if that counts as parenting… or character building.

Probably both. I think.

They had a game where if they won, they’d be back in the playoffs.

So I took him partly to have fun…

And partly to introduce him early to the emotional rollercoaster of being a Swindon fan.

Life lessons and disappointment in one afternoon.

But this reminded me…

Progress isn’t linear.

Not in football.

Not in fitness.

Not in knee rehab.

And definitely not when you’re trying to get back into exercise again.

You’ll have moments where you feel great.

Then moments where you think:

“Am I getting anywhere?”

“I should be better by now.”

“Why is this taking so long?”

I’ve felt this loads with my knee rehab.

At first, everything felt like a milestone.

Surgery.

First physio.

Brace off.

Walking again.

Now?

It’s the boring stuff.

Still strengthening.

Still not jogging.

Still showing up.

The stuff no one claps for.

But that’s usually the bit that matters most.

And it’s the same if you’re trying to get back into fitness.

Especially if you used to be fitter.

Because you remember what you used to be able to do.

You remember feeling stronger.

More confident.

More in control.

And when you’re not there right away, it’s easy to think:

“What’s the point?”

What’s the point if this or that..

Here’s where it gets really interesting though. Look how these below could add up:

The session you nearly skipped but still did.

The walk you didn’t fancy but got done.

The extra bit of protein.

The better food choice.

The showing up when no one is clapping.

You could quite easily say “what’s the point?” to all of the above.

But this is what gets you back.

Not one perfect week.

Just small decisions, repeated.

And that’s exactly why we run the 7 Day Trial.

It gives you a simple way to start again.

No pressure to be where you used to be.

No need to be fit first.

Just come in, work at your pace, get some support, and see how it feels.

Trial week start next week (w/c 18th May)

£10 for the week.

Up to 3 sessions.
