“I’m too busy today.”
That’s what went through my head the other day.
I’d been pretty good with my training and rehab…
and I thought…
“I’ll skip it today.”
You know that feeling?
You’ve done a few good days…life’s busy…you almost give yourself permission to not bother.
But then I thought about something.
I had an appointment with the surgeon who did my knee surgery yesterday.
5 weeks after the op…
And there was no way I was missing that.
Even getting the bus as I cannot drive yet..
No “I’m busy.”
No “I’ll do it tomorrow.”
No “I’ve been good this week.”
I made it work.
Because right now… with my knee…
I’ll do whatever it takes.
Because I know I need it for the future.
And it made me think…
Why does it take such extreme situations to make us prioritise our health?
Because “too busy” is something we all say.
But here’s the question that stuck with me…
If you’re too busy to look after yourself now…
Are you prepared to make time for it later?
Because later often looks like:
More aches
Less energy
More limitations
Having to fix something rather than prevent it
And that’s not to scare you…
It’s just to be honest.
Because most people don’t need more information.
They just need to do the things they already know matter.
Consistently.
Even when life is busy.
Even when you don’t feel like it.
Even when it’s just a small effort.
That’s where the real change happens.
