Collagen vs whey protein?

I was asked recently about collagen vs whey protein.

But they’re actually very different. It’s a bit like saying “afternoon tea” is a cup of tea sound similar but we know they’re wildly different.

I could’ve gone down a big rabbit hole.

Amino acids.

Timing.

Brands.

Capsules vs powders.

But honestly, that usually just creates more confusion.

So here’s the simple answer:

Collagen supports joints, cartilage, connective tissue, skin, hair and nails. Ideally go for bovine if you want benefits for the joints/  cartilage / connective tissue.

Whey protein supports muscle, strength and recovery.

Different jobs. Both useful.

I did a video on this here too. I go for powder as you’d need to take a lot of capsules to get the same amount.

That’s it.

Because here’s the bit most people miss…

Health and fat loss don’t come from having perfect information.

They come from doing simple things consistently.

I see people get stuck debating:

• which supplement is best

• which plan is optimal

• which brand they “should” use

Meanwhile, nothing actually changes.

Simple actions done well will always beat complicated plans done once.

That’s why something I think we should all focus more on in 2026?

• moving more

• building strength

• eating enough protein

• improving habits gradually

• support and accountability

No extremes. No overwhelm.

And if you’re thinking “I just want a bit of structure, guidance and someone to keep me on track after Christmas”… that’s exactly why we run our 28 Day January Kickstart.

Nothing fancy.

Just the basics, done properly, with support.

If you want to know what supplements I personally use, just reply “protein” and I’ll send it over.

And if January feels like the right time to get started, I’ll quietly say this: you don’t need perfect — you just need to start.

Message me with “January” for more info
