A quick reminder (inspired by the Lionesses)

I may have jinxed it by telling the kids it was bedtime in extra time of the England vs Italy game the other night…

Whilst I was watching on my phone…

But I couldn’t help it — I was still sneakily checking the score while putting them to bed…

And just as I did — England scored that second goal.

1-0 down.
Then equaliser.
Then a winner, late on.

Game changed, just like that.

And it reminded me how quick things can shift if you keep going — even when it feels like you’re getting nowhere.

They could’ve easily thought:
“We’re not creating anything.”
“We’re losing.”
“What’s the point?”

May as well lose 2-0, 3-0, 4-0 (something we often do with our habits)

Sound familiar?

We do the same sometimes when it comes to food, fitness, and our goals…

“I’ve had a bad day — may as well write the week off.”
“Missed a workout — might as well not bother now.”
“I’ve failed.”

But here’s the thing:

You haven’t failed.

It’s only “failure” if you stop.

And give yourself PERMISSION to fail

^^ read that again.

So if you’re feeling a bit stuck this week — maybe it hasn’t gone how you planned —
just remember:

The time’s going to pass either way.

You can either:

  1. Make one small decision that gets you closer to where you want to be
  2. Or do nothing —stay stuck and end up further away from where you want to be

Something is better than nothing…

And don’t forget:

It’s easier to maintain than it is to make progress in the first place

So even if things feel slow, if you can just keep the momentum going, you’ll end up closer to where you want to be than just giving up…

More on that tomorrow.

For now though, good luck to England tomorrow in the final!

Matt
