I almost missed it (first time since 2017)

So here’s a confession…

I nearly broke a streak on Friday.

Since 2017, I haven’t missed a single daily video on Facebook / Instagram..

Christmas. Birthdays. Bank Holidays. Even on holiday (I’ve done lives from beaches, car parks, you name it… don’t ask about the tripod in the sea, tide coming in and the dodgy signal..).

But Friday night — final kids’ cricket evening of the season — I got back, looked at the clock, and realised…

I hadn’t done my video.

And I am tired.

It’s past my bedtime haha

I’d promised myself I’d be in bed by 10pm (oops). And honestly? It would’ve been easy to skip  the video..

But here’s the thing:

Sometimes you can’t do everything.

Sometimes the day gets away from you.

And especially in summer — with BBQs, holidays, school breaks — your routine might go out the window.

And that’s okay.

You might need to shift your expectations a little.

You might not be hitting every goal right now, but if you keep going, even just maintaining, that’s a win.

It might be that come September, you are in a better position now because you MAINTAINED and did SOMETHING rather than nothing.

Because consistency is what builds momentum.

It’s those tiny, sometimes inconvenient, not-so-glamorous habits that make the biggest difference.

Like doing more active activities with the kids / grandkids this Summer so you entertain them whilst getting your steps / workout in too (beaches, walks, parks, trampolining, climbing fun walls are my favourite)

Choosing a 10-minute workout over nothing.

Or not letting one “off” day spiral into a week of “I’ll start again Monday.”

So if you’re feeling the summer chaos right now and thinking, “What’s the point?”

Here’s your reminder:

Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t.

Small actions. Big results (eventually).

I recently put together a new guide: 8 Rules to live by this Summer to not just survive by actually thrive. It includes 14 Summer Meal Ideas and my 2 easy, favourite salads. Plus, what to do at the BBQs…

Message or comment with ‘summer’ and I will send it over.
