So, we went strawberry picking the other day.
Super easy, right? Grab your basket, start picking. And there were loads of strawberries right by the entrance.
But… they weren’t the best.
They weren’t the biggest.
They didn’t even taste that great (not that I should know as I hadn’t taken my basket to the checkout at this point)
I was ready to accept that was just how it was.
After all, I should have gone earlier. I thought ‘the best strawberries have been picked already)
Until…
I spotted someone walking past me with a basket FULL of big, juicy, red strawberries. The ones that make you think “I need those.”
Turns out… you just had to walk a bit further down the field.
The guy came back and asked where the best strawberries were..
It was a little reminder that sometimes, when we just grab what’s in front of us,
Accept things for ‘what they are’…
we miss out on the good stuff that comes from putting in a little more effort.
So, of course, after contemplating whether to go back for more…
After the kids had a play in the park..
We ended up going back and walking further to get the better strawberries, spending twice as much as planned…
