390 questions a day, lowering your salt intake, and carbs

Why is Meghan wearing that dress?  Why was your wedding not on TV? Why is water wet? What are shadows made of?

^^^ these are just some of the questions that CURIOUS kids are asking their parents RIGHT NOW…

In fact, a kid will ask about 390 questions a day, averaging a question every 1 minute & 56 seconds of their working day lol

But you know what it got me thinking?

Well, what if we got kids to question SOME of the food and diet recommendations that the Government recommend?

Can you imagine?

Here’s what the questions would be like:

1) Why do you recommend against too many eggs even though the SCIENCE shows that there are NO negative effects (apart from the occasional fart) even if you eat more than 12 a week?

2) You say that being a healthy weight is good for you, so why do you say this on your website:

“protein-rich foods can help you feel full and we should have some beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat and other protein foods as part of a healthy balanced diet. But we shouldn’t eat too much of these foods. “

Which begs the question: why should we not eat too much of these foods if they are making you feel full?

3) Then on your website you say

“It is recommended that you base all your meals around starchy carbohydrate foods”

Then you say eat a low salt diet…

YET:

You need salt to live…and you do NOT need carbohydrates to live?

^^^ I’m not saying don’t eat carbs at all…I’m just saying that it’s contradictory, right?

My point?

Some of the guidelines are literally based on stuff in the 80’s and 90’s which was speculative at BEST!

Unfortunately, they’ve been said so many times & dogmatised that even SOME professionals are not even willing to challenge them?

Anyway, maybe we should get all of the kids in Wiltshire, load them up with nutrition questions and send them to the House Of Commons? What do you think?

“BOOM! 6 weeks from my initial measurements and….I’ve lost 4 and a half inches from my waist. 4 and a half inches from my hips. 1 and a half inches from my bust. And 1 and half inches off each thigh!!! I’m so bloody happy!!”
