No, it’s not eat breakfast, ‘no carbs before 6pm’ or drink ‘skinny coffee’…
Today, I’m just going to give you 1 simple hack that could make you think differently about the way you set up your diet to lose weight, tone up and drop a few dress sizes….
You see, we’re intelligent people, right? Both me and you go about our days making informed decisions about what’s best for our families, work, friends and – hopefully – YOU (I’ll come on to that one another day).
But when it comes to food? Both me and you can lose control so easily. So, what’s the tip? Here it is:
* Just for tonight, serve your food using a paper or plastic plate *
Why?
Well, unlike the diet ‘gossipers’ telling you that to lose weight your diet has to be 100% organic, gluten free, dairy free, chemical free, ‘natural’ and low in carbs on a Monday, Thursday And Friday (which is a full-time job to stick to in itself…)
Our friends doing controlled scientific RESEARCH have shown that when you can feel the weight of the food on your plate as you serve it, you will automatically serve yourself LESS. Perhaps due to the fact you become aware of how much you are serving and SLOW DOWN…rather than shovelling in anything and everything on the go and feeling out of control.
And there’s more….
You see, reducing the ‘weight’ of your plate could leave you ‘hungry’ (especially if you’re used to eating more)because the weight of your plate is related to how ‘full up’ you feel.
So, to keep full up, try filling up your plate in this order:
1) Veggies (they’re full of water, fibre and nutrients for your skin, immune system and health. Plus they fill your plate)
2) A protein rich food (fish, meats, eggs, veggie alternative such as soy protein etc.) Protein keeps you fuller for longer and also takes up quite a lot of room.
3) Carbs (like potatoes, pasta, bread etc) and fats (cheese, olives, avocado)
And I get it. These ‘hacks’ sound so simple you probably won’t even do any of them and will carry on looking for the ‘magic diet’.
The truth is, it can be more simple than you think. Imagine if you added a new habit into your daily routine each day that took you closer to getting your body back for good, no matter how small?
Imagine who you’d be in a years time?
You see, 1 > 0 and if you close the gap each day between where you are right now and where you want to be, you’re winning.
And that’s the exact approach both myself and the ladies in my Fat Loss Mastery Body Transformation use to build a nutritional strategy that allows us to have a social life and get transformational results that LAST!
