We can track everything now…
Steps
Sleep
Calories
Heart rate
Glucose levels
“Spikes”
Recovery scores
There’s a gadget for everything.
But here’s the thing…
You can have all the data in the world…
And still not do anything with it.
I saw this the other day at the beach.
3 kids. Bucket and spade.
No tech. No data.
Just… playing.
And it reminded me…
The basics still work.
Same with health and fitness.
We’re seeing more and more “personalised” data…
Glucose monitors
“Don’t eat this, it spikes that”
So I wanted to share a recent (and expensive) 2023 study…
Showing that tracking glucose “spikes” with monitors is actually unreliable and unpredictable in healthy individuals (without diabetes)
Responses varied similarly whether people ate the SAME meal… or a completely different one.
So for example…
If I eat the same meal twice, my glucose response can be just as different as if I ate two totally different meals.
Which shows us…
It’s quite random.
And not really ready to give us personalised nutrition advice.
Of course…
People can still get results.
But often in spite of what they’re doing… not because of it.
For example:
Let’s say I test my glucose, see a spike after eating pasta… and decide to cut it out.
I might lose weight…
But that could simply be because I’ve reduced my overall calorie intake.
And then I say:
“It was the pasta…”
When actually…
It was the calories.
And this is where things get confusing.
“I can’t eat this…”
People don’t struggle because they don’t know what to do.
They struggle because they’re not doing it consistently.
That’s the bit that matters.
Not more data.
Just doing the simple things… regularly.
Eating in a way that keeps you satisfied.
Moving your body.
Building some strength.
Keeping it going when life gets busy.
That’s it.
Not easy… but simple.
And this is exactly what we focus on in the 28 Day Kickstart (more info here https://frucifit.com)

PS. Quite often, less information… and more action… is the answer good even if it’s imperfect
