The wins most people miss

Most people ignore these wins.

Not the scale…

^^That one we look at a lot.

But the other wins?

They often get overlooked.

Things like:

Showing up when you couldn’t be bothered.

Getting up from the floor a little easier.

Carrying something heavier than you used to.

Walking a bit further.

Feeling slightly fitter.

Feeling slightly stronger.

These are the things that usually lead to the result people want.

But because they don’t show up on the scale…

We ignore them.

And when the scale doesn’t move?

It affects our mood.

Our motivation.

Our habits.

And suddenly it’s:

“Well… sod it.”

(Unless you’re doing a 7 day average like we do in the kickstart)

I catch myself doing this with my knee rehab as well.

I went for a small walk the other day.

Nothing dramatic.

In fact, it was so small and slow my watch wouldn’t even register I was walking.

And my first thought, as much as I enjoyed it, was:

“I should be going further.”

“I should be doing more.”

All these little critical thoughts.

But then I stopped and thought…

Hang on.

I went for a walk.

That’s a win.

And if I ignore that win…

I’m ignoring the evidence.

And that evidence matters.

Because evidence builds confidence.

And confidence helps you keep doing the things you already know you should be doing.

Turning up.

Moving your body.

Looking after yourself.

Without that confidence…

It’s easy to quit.

That’s why we encourage people in the 28 Day Kickstart to notice those wins.

Not just the big results.

But the small pieces of progress that show you you’re moving in the right direction.

Because when you start stacking those small wins…

Confidence grows.

And when confidence grows…

Consistency usually follows.
