I touched on this yesterday regarding ‘clean’ eating and how being GOOD can then CAUSE the bad.
For example, you are GOOD all week. Eat one so-called BAD food and then you binge, and write off the week.
So if you struggle on the weekends / when you start eating unprocessed foods / snacky foods / meals out and feel you can’t stop?
This might be because you believe you are eating OFF plan. Then you FEEL you have failed.
So here is what to do:
Increase your calorie ‘budget’ (you can do this without tracking overall calories. You just track your snacks).
Allow yourself up to 300 calories of ANY food you like. This is permission to have ANYTHING (just not everything). Even if that is chocolate. All good.
This will help you stick to the PLAN. Rather than eating 200 calories of chocolate and thinking “F it, may as well eat 1000 calories as I have ruined it and I’m off the plan”
You can know this is PART of the plan.
Try it.
Sometimes, it is just these little mindset tricks that are all you need.
Remember though
It only works if you do it
(and more than once…even if you fail)
