So, it's that time of the year when you're stressing about getting everyone Christmas gifts. What to get? Have you missed anyone?
And Mrs Fruci - being the thoughtful person that she is - decided to get some bottles of prosecco for the staff at nursery.
Luckily, we have a 'prosecco cupboard'. So, Mrs Fruci got the bottles out and put some name labels on them.
I wonder over. Thinking 'how thoughtful, that'll really make their day'.
Until I notice that ONE of the bottles says the following on it:
"Matthew & Jennifer Frutti
Congratulations!!! On your wedding day. Hope you enjoy your special day."It turns out, Mrs Fruci 'hadn't noticed' <<< apparently.
But my point is that when you're on the go, busy, and trying to please everyone else?
You can make rash, uneducated decisions (luckily...after drinking the bottle of champagne, I managed to talk Mrs Fruci out of a divorce)
And it's the same when it comes to your diet after a long day, emails, lacking sleep, no energy, hungry...and your innate instincts take over making you binge on anything and everything.
After all, your willpower is the lowest in the evening.
I mean, notice how you'll rarely mess up your diet in the morning by cleaning out the tin of Quality Street?
So, here's 3 quick tips to help you slim down without relying on willpower even after a busy, stressful day:
1) Have an apple in your car so that you can eat it BEFORE you get home and walk into your kitchen (this helps you beat hunger so you make more rationale, smart decisions about your food choices)
2) Have 6 protein snacks handy (this could be Greek yoghurt, leftover chicken, smoked salmon, eggs) so it's more convenient to eat these than...Quality Street...
3) Make sure all of your snacky foods are in ONE cupboard (a bit like my prosecco cupboard) so that if you do want a snack or some prosecco? At least you have to make a conscious decision to open that ONE cupboard rather than draining your willpower every time you walk in your kitchen and see the tin of quality street (even the $#*! green ones)
But I get that you probably think these won't work for you.
How do I know?
Well, I thought that, too.
Because it challenged my thoughts and beliefs of what I used to do.
