So I’m rushing around in the kitchen,
Trying to make a quick bowl of porridge with some frozen berries stirred in
(and some protein powder for the protein in case you are concerned I am not getting my protein high enough)
Then black lab, Dora casually walks over…
Pretending to act cool but secretly hoping I spill the whole bowl on the floor so she can eat it all up, even if it would make her sick …
And her wish came true.
Ok, not totally true.
But I dropped some berries on the floor.
I looked at Dora, she looked back at me…
And she went straight for the berries.
So i quickly squatted down (yep, got my squat in)
Got the berries and rapidly came back up..
Only to smack my head on the cupboard door I left open.
A little cut and a bump later…
It was a timely reminder of
1- How quickly I can squat down and get berries from the floor
2- How I need to stop leaving cupboard doors open
Why am I sharing this?
Why did I have to wait for something like this to happen to be conscious about leaving cupboard doors open?
So I am sharing this as a reminder, not to wait for the ‘bump on the head’ to take action…
As I hear so often with people in the health and fitness industry.
Be it like when I was working in the NHS and Public Health and seeing people with diabetes NOW be super motivated to change their way..
Now they have been diagnosed with diabetes…
Like when people see a family member go through something traumatic or struggle themselves with mobility
To push them to change.
After all..
If you had to live another 6 months, 12 months, 2 years with the same habits, where does that leave you?
And I need this reminder too.
It’s like when I have ever been to a funeral before.
You look around a think:
“Life is short”
“Life is precious”
“Stop stressing about the small stuff”
Only for the next day we are here stressing about traffic and the weather…
Anyway,
Stop waiting for the perfect time ..
And if you are?
The perfect time is now 🙂
