Had a load of messages after sharing the knee update:
“You’re so inspiring BUT…
“you must be gutted”
“bet you’re really frustrated”
“you must have had a moment where you just sat there like (sad face).
And honestly?
Yep. I absolutely did.
For about 15 minutes I was in full “why me?”, “how bad is it?”. Shock. That I didn’t just do the ACL and medial meniscus but also my lateral meniscus is in 5 pieces which can’t be repaired in that state….Frustration. Thinking about the future – work, football, Hyrox…
But after that?
There was no point staying there.
I couldn’t change what happened.
So the only question left was:
– What CAN I do?
And the quicker I asked that question, the quicker I felt better. Even if it was tiny stuff — adapting exercises, using the Compex (electro stimulation), icing, hobbling around, upper body, single leg squats, bending exercises, focusing on what is possible… it made me feel productive. It made me feel in control again.
And it’s the same on any health and fitness journey and with the the 1000s of people we work with at Fruci Fit.
