Ever said that?
Most people don’t struggle because they don’t know what to do.
They struggle because they feel overwhelmed…
Or tell themselves they’ll start “when things calm down”.
But things rarely calm down.
And any progress is progress.
So instead of overthinking it…
Here are 3 simple things you can do today.
No shopping required.
Nothing fancy.
Just getting started.
1) Have a glass of water with every meal and hot drink
You’re already having tea, coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner…
So just stack it on top.
That’s called habit stacking.
No extra thinking.
Just pairing it with something you already do.
2) Slow down your eating (even slightly)
Try adding a few extra chews to each mouthful.
I don’t always do this…
But when I do, I notice something straight away.
I slow down.
And when I slow down…
I actually notice if I’m full or not.
That awareness is powerful.
Because a lot of the time we’re not overeating because we’re hungry…
We’re just eating quickly and not noticing.
3) Remind yourself why you’re doing this
This is the big one.
Because motivation comes and goes.
But your reasons?
They matter.
It might be:
Getting up and down from the floor easier
Having more energy
Feeling more confident
Keeping up with the kids or grandkids
Getting back to doing things you enjoy
For me right now…
It’s my knee.
Doing the rehab.
So I can get back to running around, being active, doing what I want to do.
Going into the sea with the kids.
^^ this one hits me hard..
And some mornings…
I really can’t be bothered.
But reminding myself why gives me that little nudge.
That polite kick up the bum.
To just get started.
And that’s the key.
You don’t need the perfect plan.
You just need to start.
Because once you start…
It’s much easier to keep going.
