I couldn’t get off the loo

So I played football for the first time in probably a year the other day…

And the next morning?

I genuinely struggled to get off the toilet.

The morning after that?

Even worse…

Like, full-on “brace yourself, I’m about to get up” levels of soreness.

Now if you’ve not exercised in a while and / or you do anything outside your usual routine, that kind of soreness can feel like a warning sign.

But it’s not…

It’s just your muscles waking up and going, “Erm, what was that?!”

Here’s the good news:

  • The more consistently you do it, the less sore you’ll be (as research shows)
  • Your body actually adapts surprisingly quickly — even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time.
  • And over time, you’ll feel stronger, more mobile, and less stiff day to day.

Feeling sore? Here’s what helps:

  • Gentle movement (even a slow walk helps)
  • Hydration + stretching
  • Strength training that’s tailored to you (I love this as I can still focus on upper body even if my legs are sore)
  • And… doing it more often (consistency wins!)

The first few times are always the hardest — but if you keep showing up, it gets easier. Promise.

So if you’re feeling it after that first session — or struggling to get off the loo like me — don’t stop. Sure, you MAY have overdone it a bit. But, it will get easier.

And don’t forget to go at your own pace. Your pace is the right pace, as we always say at Fruci Fit.
