Hunger? Consider this 

Here’s one of my favourite studies ever…

Researchers gave people the exact same 300-calorie milkshake.

But here’s the twist:

– First time round, it was labelled as a “low-calorie, light, diet shake”

– Second time round, it was labelled as “indulgent, creamy, luxurious” (think frappuccino vibes)

Now remember — the shake was exactly the same both times.

But here’s what happened:

– When people thought they were having the “diet” shake… they felt hungrier afterwards, and their hunger hormones were higher..

– When they thought they were having the indulgent one… they felt more full and satisfied, and their hunger hormones dropped.

Same shake. Different expectations.

And yet it actually changed their hormones. 

Fascinating, right?
