How to fight fatigue?

How to fight fatigue?

Got this message from Mary last week (see image)

Amazing to hear.

“Closest I have felt to the normal me in well over a year”

Love this.

I did a Q and A on fatigue and tiredness the other week.

Now, there are lots of variables here.

Consider what it is you do when you feel fatigued…

•What are the benefits of doing it?

•Is it monotonous?

•Do you need more variation in what you are doing?

•We often see fatigue as something negative

•What if you see it as an emotion. E.g. if you feel sad, you investigate: why am I sad?

•What about your environment? How can I change this? How have you slept? Is it always sleep? Do I need to take a break?

Now there is some research on the following:

•Vitamin B12

•Zinc

•Sodium

•Magnesium

•Vitamin C

•Vitamin D

•L Carnitine

•Tryptophan

•Higher omega 3 intake

•Probiotics

•Cocoa?

•Caffeine?

Speaking of cocoa, I did a podcast with Dr Shelly Coe about her research into fatigue which you can check out HERE

But there could be one more thing?

1-1.2g per kg of protein, 25-30g protein per meal and hitting leucine threshold seems to be beneficial to alleviate fatigue, whether this is due to muscle recovery and the view that fatigue is perceived at muscular level, we are unsure.

You may be wondering what the leucine threshold means.

Leucine is an amino acid. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Leucine in particular seems to trigger the muscle recovery response known as Muscle Protein Synthesis. It is found mainly in meats, fish, eggs, dairy, whey protein shakes, and soy.

Food for thought..

But the key thing about whatever you do?

Is that you have to do it…

Most people know what to do..

But just don’t do it.

Which is why we focus on getting you to do things you know you need to do in the 28 Day Kickstart.

Specifically for women 40+ and 50+.

Message me with ‘Kickstart’

And I will get you the details

Matt
