Does this make me a hypocrite?

“I don’t want to do it”

My daughter said about her homework…

Well, firstly if she doesn’t do it

She can’t play as she would have to go to homework club

And secondly..

She just ‘has’ to do it.

It is one of those things.

And we say things like this.

‘You have to do it’

Whilst of course highlight the consequences of not doing it

(not being able to play with your friends as you have to go to homework club)

But then do we practice this ourselves?

When it comes to exercise?

We know it makes us feel better.

→ improves energy

→ Reduces our risk of diseases

→ Will help us get stronger and make everyday tasks easier

→ is critical for our mental health

→ Helps with bone health and arthritis

I could go on..

But do we always do it?

And I’ve been keeping this with me

And even sharing it with my kids.

“I didn’t want to run today, but I did it anyway as I know I will feel better afterwards,” I said.

My point?

Sometimes it is good to do the things you don’t feel like doing…

And the more I share this?

And tell you, like I am now.

The more of a hypocrite I become by not doing it…
