^^ That was what my daughter asked me the other day with an inquisitive face probably contemplating some things she has to do and others she wants to do …
And as you know, sometimes you’ve got to do things you don’t want to do.
Just like, going down a slide is scary…but if it wasn’t, it would be boring, right? And it wouldn’t be fun!
Anyway, my point in here?
It’s the same with this health & fitness stuff.
When you look at research, when people are told things are going to be hard?
they do better than when they’re told they’re going to be easy.
And those hard things, those things that you sometimes don’t want to do, are the things that you need to do.
Because it’s going to be hard anyway, so you may as well choose the “hard” that gets you the results you want.
And like I always say, with setting the 2025 goals this year,
if you’re busy, stressed, tired, not sure what to do, and you ADD in another goal
^^ remember it takes 1 minute to set a goal and potentially a lifetime to achieve some …
another goal, which you haven’t quite thought about.
Because if your schedule is already full (I mean really full, scrolling social media aside, which I have stopped doing first thing when I wake up to get my workout in)
You need to get rid of something. You need to ask the question:
What do I need to stop doing right now?
Otherwise, you set yourself up to fail.
You then have evidence that you haven’t done it. and it hits the confidence even more!
That’s why we have been so focussed on small habits in the 5-Day Kickstart to create evidence you CAN do this to help you kickstart your momentum
(Like what we do in the 28 Day Kickstart. Reply with “kickstart” for more info).
So what do we need to get rid of?
For me, stop scrolling in the morning, get my workout in, and to do this? I have to plan my day in advance. I’ve got a schedule to make sure I get my workout in, look after me, look after others.
And this is something that I’ve been talking about for years, sometimes not doing as much as I preach..
When I was working in Public Health, NHS. I used to talk about this a lot, looking after you first,
And it’s the same in Fruci Fit as well. But actually, when you do it, the results are amazing for your energy, for your mood, and it’s so odd, because actually doing those hard things will get you the results you want. You just got to keep going.
And remember ,It’s going to be hard anyway, whether you do the hard things or don’t. So you might as well choose the hard things to do that get you the result that you want.
Whether that’s with your fitness, being able to get up and down from floor more easily, make everyday tasks easier, fit into your favourite clothes, or simply feel great again with energy (can you remember the last time you felt like that?).
It’s not easy, but it is simple. It’s why we focus on accountability and the 3Fs in our Fruci Fit 28 Day Kickstart. To help you get the simple thing right, consistently.
By taking imperfect action aka doing it even when you don’t feel like it.
It’s specifically for women 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+ who pretty much know what to do but need the plan and accountability to do it.
