Airpods in the toilet & habit change…

So the other morning I was trying to be super productive

Headphones about to go on charge (they were in my dressing gown pocket which is where I never put them so I was conscious of not losing them), coffee on, ready to take on the world

Only problem?
My headphones were missing.

I’d usually keep them safely in my bag (organised chaos, but I know where everything is).

But this time I’d put them in my dressing-gown pocket after a shower yesterday.

And even having just got out of bed and felt the headphones were there?

They had now gone.

Cue me searching everywhere —
– The pocket
– The bin
– The toilet (yes, I actually thought I’d flushed them…)

Turns out, subconsciously, I’d already put them back where they belong — in my bag.

And that got me thinking

So much of what we do (or don’t do) each day is down to habits — those automatic things we do without even realising.

Sometimes we need what I call a pattern interrupt — a little reminder that nudges you back in the right direction:

  • An alarm that says “time to move!”
  • A band on your wrist that reminds you to take a break
  • A message from a coach checking in
  • A small “you’ve got this” nudge that helps you stay consistent

Because when life gets busy, motivation dips, or the to-do list grows…
It’s those small pattern interrupts that help you keep going — one step, one workout, one good choice at a time.

And that’s exactly what our 28-Day Kickstart is all about (message me with kickstart for more info)

It’s designed to help women 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+ build momentum — with the structure, accountability, and little “pattern interrupts” that make it easier to stay consistent (even when life gets hectic)..
