I was asked this the other day.
When negative thoughts start going round and round.
Like a washing machine.
^^ Which is a great description.
Same thing spinning over and over.
What can I do?
And I haven’t got the magic answer. I’d rather be honest with you.
I haven’t got one sentence that fixes everything.
If I did, I’d probably be on a beach somewhere drinking coffee, eating a tin of mackerel.
^^ instead, I’m at home, drinking coffee and eating a tin of mackerel.
But one thing I do think helps is this:
Sometimes we can’t think our way out of it.
We have to act our way out of it.
Because the more attention we give the thought…
The bigger it can become.
Energy flows where your attention goes.
So sometimes the best thing you can do is change the focus.
Not perfectly.
Not forever.
Just for a few minutes.
Do something.
^^ don’t just read this, and do nothing..
20 punches.
10 squats.
A short walk.
A stretch.
A few minutes of movement.
Something to interrupt the cycle.
It won’t fix everything overnight.
But something is better than nothing.
And I think this is where exercise can be so powerful.
Not just for weight loss.
Not just for fitness.
But for your mind.
Your mood.
Your confidence.
That feeling of:
“Okay, I did something.”
And that’s often the start.
You don’t need the perfect plan.
You don’t need to feel motivated.
You don’t need to wait until your head is in the perfect place.
You just need a place to start.
With support.
With people around you.
With sessions adapted to your level.
And a bit of accountability to help you keep showing up.
Our next 7 Day Trial starts:

PS. If your brain is doing the washing machine thing today, try changing the channel with 5 minutes of movement. Not because it fixes everything. But because it gives your brain something else to do for a bit.
