Put your hands on your head (he’s said to me)

“Put your hands on your head”

I heard…

I slowly put the

houmous back down on the table

And put my hands on my head.

As that little voice reminded me about how I nearly finished the houmous

Even though I wasn’t hungry.

And that’s the bit that surprised me.

Because it wasn’t a takeaway.

It wasn’t “bad food”.

It was houmous, carrot sticks… leftovers from earlier.

“Healthy”, right?

But I was full.

And I still caught myself thinking…

“I’ll just finish it.”

You know that voice?

The one that says…

“It’s only a bit more”

“Don’t waste it”

“It’s there now”

And I actually laughed at myself.

Because this is it.

This is the bit that makes the difference.

Not the big overhaul.

Not cutting everything out.

It’s the small, everyday moments.

The extra bites

The picking

The finishing what’s left

That quietly add up.

And no one really talks about that.

Because we like to think it’s about…

“What diet should I follow?”

“What foods should I cut out?”

When actually…

Sometimes it’s just being aware.

Am I actually hungry?

Or am I just eating because it’s there?

And this is where the emotional side comes in.

Because it’s not always hunger.

It’s habit.

It’s routine.

It’s comfort.

It’s tiredness.

You’ve had a long day…

Kids, work, everything else…

And you sit down and think…

“I deserve this.”

And you do.

But it’s that line between enjoying it…

and going past the point you actually need it.

And this is why it can feel frustrating.

Because you might be thinking…

“I’m not even eating that badly…”

But those little moments…

They add up.

Just like the good ones do.

Leaving a few bites

Stopping when you’re full

Saving it for later

That adds up too.

And that’s what I want you to think about today.

Not perfection.

Just awareness.

Because that alone can make a difference.

And the truth is…

Most people don’t need a completely new diet.

They just need help with those moments.

Those decisions.

That awareness.

That’s what we focus on in the 28 Day Kickstart.

Not cutting everything out.

Not being “perfect”.

Just helping you build awareness, structure, and consistency…

So you can actually do the things you already know will help.

If that’s the bit you’re struggling with, just message or comment with “Kickstart” and I’ll point you in the right direction
