September’s coming (and so are the darker mornings)

I woke up the other morning, 4am, ”freezing”. First thought:

“Where’s my dressing gown?”

^^ I said in my head to avoid waking any of the kids

Funny how quickly our expectations can impact us. 

For weeks it’s been warm. You roll out of bed thinking, this is easy. Then one chilly morning comes along and suddenly it feels 10x harder.

It reminded me of one of my favourite studies…

Two groups were given the exact same 300-calorie shake.

One had the label “indulgent & creamy.”

The other had the label “diet & skinny.”

Guess what?

The “indulgent” group reported feeling more satisfied. Even their hunger hormones reflected it.

Whereas those having the “diet” shake felt hungry…

Same shake. Different expectation. Different result.

And it’s the same with your health & fitness.

If you expect it to be perfect…

That life won’t get in the way…

That motivation will always be there…

You’ll end up stopping the moment it gets tough.

But if you go in expecting obstacles (like darker mornings, busier diaries, and some cravings)…

You’ll be ready for them.

It’s not about giving up your favourite foods…

But it’s about compromising and making the choices that make you feel good! As when you feel good, everything is easier. 

September is one of the best times to start our 28 Day Kickstart.

Building confidence with small wins — even on the cold, darker mornings to come.
